A VIRTUAL CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE

THE CHALLENGE
A manufacturing company needed a targeted strategy to address the workforce shortage, as well as provide transparency around careers in manufacturing. High school students are an ideal target audience as they begin making career decisions. However, because of liability and access issues, it is difficult to bring students into the plants to educate them on manufacturing careers.

OUR STRATEGY
WordsFresh created a virtual field trip and interactive curriculum for students in Doss High School’s manufacturing program.

The experience included:

  • Virtual Field Trip – Students experience a virtual tour of the plant, highlighting select manufacturing functions.
  • Live Chat – Tour was followed by a live Q&A with students.
  • Virtual Skills Lab – Students engage in solving a manufacturing problem.
  • Teacher’s Toolkit – Classroom materials and curriculum including instructions and support materials.

RESULTS

The Virtual Classroom experience helped spark an ongoing partnership between the appliance company and Doss High School that will engage students with exciting content for years to come.
